Sizing logic: TDH = vertical lift + (pipe run × 0.02 ft/ft friction for 2″ pipe). Model selection uses the lowest-HP model whose head curve exceeds calculated TDH at the requested flow, with a safety margin of 20%. Solids-risk “Extreme” forces a minimum of 2 HP regardless of flow. Japan split-grid caps at SGP20 (2 HP).
